Curb Your Spending Enthusiasm

With the economy today, more people have been starting to save money. For most people, the hard thing is that they do not realize how much money they spend. Take a week to write down every penny to spend. At the end of the week, go through your list and see where you may be spending a little too much. Write down everything, even if you do not think it is necessary.

Split your list into three categories: the things you do not need that you could have gotten by without, the things that you could have gotten by without, but might have missed (the reasonable things), and the things that were not necessary for you to survive. Add all the categories up separately and then add them together. All of this money can be put into savings.

Saving money doesn’t happen overnight and it might take a little time. For example, if you get a cup of coffee every morning, you could save a lot of money by just cutting this out of your daily routine and putting that money into savings. Put all of your savings in the bank so you won’t be tempted to spend it. Also, credit cards are not good for anyone; you will go into debt. Try using a prepaid card instead.

One of the best ways to save money is making a budget and sticking to it. This way, you know exactly where your money needs to go and how much you are spending.
